Hello scrapbookers! Today we're going to make a striking page that's strikingly easy to make. Are you on my mailing list? Sign up today as the March newsletter goes out tomorrow and one of the features is a fun scrapbook page that's only available to subscribers.
Here's a photo of our front yard. We live in a heavily wooded subdivision that has it's own deer herd. Not by design, it just happened. Anyway, I thought this fawn was really pretty and was lucky enough to get a photo of it. There are actually 2 of them, but the other one is lying down and impossible to see in the photo. The top photo is a copy of the bottom photo with a tiny bit of manipulation using a photo editor. Trust me when I say that it was incredibly easy. I only spent about a minute on it. I first made a copy of the photo, then clicked on Edit and Crop to get just the fawn. Then I clicked Effects and Vignette. That was it! Easy, peasy! If you're working with printed photos you can get a similar effect by printing an enlarged copy of your photo and then trimming it to include only the fawn. Make a mat of black card stock with an oval cut out and place it over your photo. I used Marina Mist and Not Quite Navy for the mats and the stamp is from Nature Walk found in the Occasions Mini catalog. I stamped it using Very Vanilla craft ink. You can allow it to dry or emboss with clear embossing powder. The words are printed on Very Vanilla card stock.
The photo editor I use is iPhoto which came with my Mac. Information can be found HERE.
There are many free photo editors available for both PC and Mac. An informational article from PC Magazine can be found HERE.
Have fun with your pictures! Email me a picture of a page you've made using today's layout (or one that's similar) and I'll post one on next week's SSF Scrapbook Saturday!
