Piece of Poison. That sounds ominous doesn't it? Oooooooo! Booga Booga! Ok, in reality that's the name of the new Halloween stamp set that's in the 2011 Holiday Mini. It's got some cool images and it's also
available as a digital download. This card was made digitally using the digital designer series paper called Cast-A-Spell. The paper has been retired, but the digital download is still available. You could easily make this card using the new Pick Your Poison Designer Series Paper which is available both as paper or a digital download.
Here's the tutorial using My Digital Studio. If you prefer using card stock, ink & stamps you can still use the dimensions I give. Just substitute the Pick Your Poison DSP for your layers. This may seem like a lot of steps, but it looks worse than it is. (trust me?)
Here we go!
1) Open My Digital Studio and name a new project. This is a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" portrait greeting card.
2) Design Center or Resource Pallette > Background Papers > Color > Basic Black.
3) Design Center > Photos
3a) Click Photo Box. Adjust the size to 4" x 5-1/4"
3b) Resource Palette > Background Papers > Browse. Highlight your selection and click Open. (This example uses Cast-A-Spell)
3c) Scroll through the patterns, drag the one you want onto the photo box.
4) Design Center > Photos
4a) Click Photo Box. Adjust the size to 3-1/4" x 4-1/2".
4b) Drag the patterned paper of your choice onto the photo box.
4c) Click this layer to select it, then in the Design Center, click Mat. Adjust the size to 3 and change the color. (Old Olive)
5) Click Resource Palette > Punches
5a) Double click the square. Adjust the size to 2-3/8" x 4". Color Fill Whisper White.
5b) Click Mat and select size 3, make it Basic Black.
6) Resource Palette > Stamps
6a) Browse and select Piece of Poison
6b) Double click the skeleton. Adjust the size to fit into the white layer.
7) Design Center > Photos
7a) Click Photo Box. Adjust the size to 3-1/2" x 3/4".
7b) Drag the patterned paper of your choice onto the photo box.
7c) Click this layer to select it, then in the Design Center, click Mat. Adjust the size to 2 and change the color. (Basic Black)
8) Resource Palette > Stamps
8a) Double click the phrase "Trick or Treat, adjust the size and drag it into position.
9) Double click the rat. Adjust the size and drag it into position.
10) Double click the spider.
10a) Drag it to the top left corner of the white layer and adjust the size.
10b) Click this spider to select it and do a copy and paste to duplicate it.
10c) Adjust the size to be a little smaller and position it below the first one.
10d) Repeat for the 3rd and smallest spider.
Done! That wasn't so bad, was it? The only hard part for me was those spiders. I don't even like "touching" them digitally!
