Today is Memorial Day and we have many, many heros to thank for our continuing freedom. Hundreds of thousands of brave, selfless men and women have given their lives to ensure that their loved ones and this great country could continue to live free. Because of them we have so many rights and privileges that we aren't always aware of.
Take a moment to think of the heros in your family today. Whether it was a close family member, a friend or a relative who died before you were born, they deserve our respect and gratitude. If you see a soldier or veteran thank them, they deserve to be recognized. Yes, it may be uncomfortable or awkward to say "thanks" to a total stranger, but these men and women deserve to feel our appreciation for putting their life on the line for us. Whether you agree or disagree with war, it is because of these heros that you can voice your opinion without fear of being jailed, tortured or killed.
